Businesses can be heroes too.

We are proud to be working with Members of Congress from both parties to introduce a bipartisan bill ending mandatory arbitration for sexual assault and rape in employment contracts.

Beat the Bill is a campaign encouraging Corporate America to voluntarily end arbitration for sexual assault and rape in employment contracts prior to the bill passing. Over 60 million Americans have this clause in their contract, which means they waived their right to a jury trial the moment they agreed to go to work.

Businesses and corporations are some of the greatest culture shapers in our country. Employees and consumers are looking to brands and companies to tip culture towards a purpose.

We don’t believe most companies are intentionally hiding it in their employment contracts.

We want to give corporations an opportunity to correct an unintentional wrong and protect their employees from sexual assault and rape in the workplace by changing their policy before the bill passes.

We shouldn’t need legislation for this.

What if, as a society, we rallied together – from the most entry level positions to CEOs, as mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, employers and employees – to shift change in our country?

Beat the bill is a race designed to reveal the true purpose and culture behind companies. Will they beat the bill and change policy before they are forced to? Or will they make government legally obligate them to change?

It's a race.

beat the bill creates a target, an opportunity and a timeline for us all to aim for in preventing sexual assault and rape in the workplace by encouraging companies to change their policy before the bill passes.

What needs to happen?

Companies voluntarily end their corporate policy of arbitration for sexual assault because it is the right thing to do and they value their employees, customers and people more than a clause in a contract.

What is the timing?

NOW.

the race is on.
